One of the most known literary sources on Hesychasm is Philokalia; it contains the statements of many Christian monks who lived on the Earth during the first centuries of the existence of Christianity. Their words reflect their personal spiritual search: doubts, despair of failures, description of successes, advice to others. Many of them contributed a lot to development of the ideas of Hesychasm.
